Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2025
At RelayNodeCom, we take your privacy seriously. This isn't just legal boilerplate — we actually care about how your information is handled.
We've written this policy in plain language because we believe you shouldn't need a law degree to understand what happens with your data. If something here is unclear, reach out to us. We're happy to explain.
What Information We Collect
When you work with us or visit our website, we collect certain information. Some you give us directly, and some we gather automatically to improve your experience.
Information You Provide
- Contact Details: Your name, email address, phone number, and business address when you reach out or sign up for our services
- Business Information: Company name, industry details, and specific project requirements you share during consultations
- Payment Data: Billing information needed to process transactions (though we don't store full credit card numbers — our payment processors handle that)
- Communication Records: Emails, support tickets, and messages you send us through our contact forms
- Project Materials: App data, performance metrics, and technical specifications you provide for optimization work
Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage Data: How you interact with our website — pages visited, time spent, links clicked
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and screen resolution
- Performance Metrics: When we're optimizing your mobile app, we track load times, crash reports, and user behavior patterns
- Cookies and Similar Tech: Small files that help us remember your preferences and analyze site traffic
How We Use Your Information
We collect data for specific reasons — not just because we can. Here's what we actually do with it:
- Deliver Our Services: We need your project details to optimize your mobile app. Can't do the work without understanding what you need
- Communicate With You: Respond to inquiries, send project updates, and share important account information
- Improve Performance: Analyze usage patterns to make our services better and identify areas where apps commonly struggle
- Process Payments: Handle billing, send invoices, and manage subscription services
- Provide Support: Troubleshoot issues, answer questions, and help you get the most from our optimization work
- Legal Compliance: Meet regulatory requirements in Cambodia and maintain proper business records
- Security: Protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and other potential threats
Important Note: We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Period. We're not in the data-selling business — we're in the app optimization business.
How We Store and Protect Your Data
Security isn't an afterthought for us. We use industry-standard practices to keep your information safe:
- Encryption: Data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols
- Secure Storage: Information stored on our servers is protected with encryption and access controls
- Limited Access: Only team members who need specific data to do their jobs can access it
- Regular Audits: We review our security practices quarterly and update them as threats develop
- Vendor Standards: Third-party services we use (hosting, payment processing) meet strict security requirements
That said, no system is completely foolproof. We do everything reasonably possible to protect your data, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we detect a breach that affects your information, we'll notify you promptly.
When We Share Your Information
We're selective about who gets access to your data. Here are the only situations where we share information:
| Who We Share With | What We Share | Why We Share It |
|---|---|---|
| Service Providers | Contact info, project data | Cloud hosting, payment processing, email services |
| Legal Authorities | Requested information | Court orders, legal compliance, law enforcement requests |
| Business Partners | Limited project details | When you authorize collaboration with specific partners |
| Analytics Providers | Anonymized usage data | Understanding website traffic and improving user experience |
All third parties we work with are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes. We don't just hand information over to anyone who asks.
Your Rights and Choices
This is your data, not ours. You have meaningful control over how we use it:
Access and Correction
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it. Response time is usually within 7 business days.
Deletion
Want us to delete your data? We'll honor that request, with some exceptions:
- We need to keep financial records for tax purposes (required by Cambodian law for 10 years)
- Active contracts require us to maintain certain project information
- Legal disputes or investigations may require data retention
- Anonymized data used for analytics doesn't identify you personally
Marketing Communications
We occasionally send updates about our services or industry insights. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in every email. Takes effect immediately — no waiting period.
Cookie Management
Most browsers let you control cookies. You can block them entirely, though some website features might not work properly if you do.
Data Portability
You can request your data in a structured, commonly used format. Useful if you want to move to another service provider.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We don't hold onto information longer than necessary. Here's our retention approach:
- Active Clients: We keep your data for the duration of our working relationship, plus 2 years afterward for support and warranty purposes
- Inquiry Data: Contact information from potential clients who don't engage our services is deleted after 18 months
- Financial Records: Maintained for 10 years to comply with Cambodian tax regulations
- Website Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized data kept indefinitely; individual session data deleted after 26 months
- Support Communications: Archived for 3 years to help resolve recurring issues and improve service quality
When data reaches its retention limit, we securely delete it from our systems. Backups containing old data are overwritten within 90 days.
International Data Transfers
We're based in Cambodia, but we use some services hosted in other countries. Your data might be processed on servers located outside Cambodia, particularly in:
- United States (cloud hosting, analytics)
- Singapore (backup storage, content delivery)
- European Union (payment processing for some clients)
When data crosses borders, we ensure adequate protection through:
- Contracts with service providers requiring equivalent data protection standards
- Encryption during transmission and storage
- Regular security audits of international vendors
- Compliance with applicable cross-border data transfer regulations
Children's Privacy
Our services target businesses, not children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and discover your child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
Privacy regulations change. Our practices improve. Sometimes we need to update this policy.
When we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email if you're an active client. For everyone else, we'll post a notice on our website for at least 30 days. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when the most recent changes took effect.
Continuing to use our services after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with changes, you can request data deletion and stop using our services.
Cambodia-Specific Provisions
We operate under Cambodian law and comply with relevant local regulations regarding data protection and privacy. Key points:
- Our data practices align with Cambodia's telecommunications and e-commerce regulations
- Business records follow retention requirements set by the Ministry of Commerce
- Financial data handling complies with National Bank of Cambodia guidelines
- Disputes regarding privacy are subject to Cambodian jurisdiction
As Cambodia's data protection framework develops, we'll update our practices to maintain compliance while protecting your rights.
